Meet Dr. Sharon Todd

Hi! Thank you for stopping by. To help build your trust in me as a professional, I will tell you a little bit about my journey. Let me start by saying I was once where you are- a school counselor looking for the most innovative and evidence-based practices to support my students. Now, I am an energetic and interactive counselor educator who infuses instructional time with experiential learning activities. My professional identity also includes being a certified School Counselor (KY), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC, Kentucky), board-approved supervisor (Kentucky), Registered Play Therapist (RPT), and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I am also certified in Choice Theory and Reality Therapy (CT/RTC). My love for supporting school counseling and supporting school counselors lead to my pursuit of obtaining my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. Currently, I serve as the Program Director for the Master of Arts in School Counseling at Colorado Christian University. With 17 years of experience as a counselor, my background spans public education—where I worked as both a school counselor and district mental health counselor—to private practice, where I continue to serve children and adolescents. Elementary school counseling was the BEST JOB EVER! My favorite professional activities include mentoring future school counselors and presenting about Play Therapy. I live in Kentucky with my husband and our three children. Oh yeah, my favorite color is drumroll, please... PINK (as if you couldn't tell by now)!

Blessings,

Sharon :)
